The Bucky Bike is a custom motorcycle that 2 Wheel Films has built and donated to the UW Athletic Department as a fundraiser. One of the greatest things about this bike is 2 Wheel Films tried to use as many Wisonsin based businesses as it could to produce this bike so it is truly locally grown! Visit their website to see all of the Wisconsin based companies involved in this fantastic bike!
Here are pictures of Oconto Metal Finishing's contribution to the Bucky Bike!
This is the front rim of the bike. The rim came to us raw-machined and etched. The rim is actually etched with the words Wisconsin Badgers around the outside lip of the rim. This rim was fabricated by Osbournes Pro Street (another one of our favorite customers), you can see them at their website http://www.opshd.com/
Oconto Metal Finishing was responsibile for making this machined piece of aluminum look just like chrome when we were done. Below are more pictures of the Bucky Bike rims after polishing!
Here is the rear billet rim before we polished it! Below is after. OOOOH, AAAAAAAAAAH!
In these pictures you can better see the etched/engraved lettering around the outside lip of the rim. Just look at how those rims sparkle!
We were careful not to distort the beautifully engraved Wisconsin Badgers lettering. Care and attention to detail is why we are the best at what we do!
Here are the rims together. Almost too shiny to do anything but stare at for awhile huh? Our mirror finish is so comparable to chrome, you need to be an expert to tell the difference. Unlike chrome, there is no coating, so weather and UV rays do not affect polishing (as long as you do minor maintenenance), and when they do get dull, all you need is a cheap spiffin' up, no chrome stirpping and redipping. Much easier on the pocketbook!
